Hi I'm Aruja!
I am a BFA Interior Design graduate from Parsons School of Design, New York. I believe in making a difference in how life is experienced in a given environment where functionality and design go hand in hand.Upbringing
Growing up in Jaipur has given me a diverse architectural upbringing. The city is the epitome of what they call the ``best of both worlds”. The intricate royal tombs, exquisitely carved pillars and painted walls demonstrate a fusion of yesteryears and modern patterns. One of the main aspects of my design is to work with details. Since childhood, art has taught me much more than sketching. It gave me the ability to deal with problems by figuring out its very rudimentary cell and imparted me with knowledge of breaking down aspects using a detailed approach.
Process
My work is largely dependent on the users, the programs and the environment around. The process starts with having a design gesture and the rest of the components revolve around it. Materiality and color palette tend to set the mood of the atmosphere by bringing out the important elements of the space. The key inspirations for the design comes from the researched user profiles and the programs incorporated in the space.
Goals
All I want to do in life is to be able to reward myself with the joy I can provide to others. To build not just concrete structures but dreams, a place where even when shipwrecked or forlorn, one can retreat to, walls which sing one to sleep, staircases which make one walk down the memory lane and a roof which can be their ultimate sense of safety. I want to create something with such greatness, something so impactful that it’s not just a space but also an experience, a place where a majestic aura stood over style, a place where functionality is the root and design is the tree.
